Battle Report and Review
War Consort's Army
Norowas x2
WolfHawk
Xandressen Windsman
Skeleton Skullwalker
My Army Thoughts:
This set is like a puzzle piece. Not all the figure's strength can be seen at first glance. One literally has to field it to really understand just how amazing these figures are. There really is more than meets the eye.
I'll be honest, Initially I was under the impression that a NON-summon army is going to be really hard pressed against summon-magespawn oriented builds. This set doesn't have a lot of healer/magic healing figures and essentially a respawned magespawn is way better than healing since the figure comes back at full strength. Still I know that strategy and aggressive play may be the deciding factor on how to win this tournament. You really just got to have a cool and focused head.
For my army I included 3 of the best costed mid-sized bruisers that I could find. The first one is Norowas:
Norowas is just a mere 74 point sword attack bruiser. His biggest strength for me is the really good 9in speed, His high 17 defense with 3 slots of toughness, and a really consistent high attack rating paired with THUNDERBLOW which makes his 3 base damage into a potential 6 instead. He also has the subfaction ability to group move other figures with him at his above average speed. His command really shines especially in a game with just 3 actions. A command roll of 6 can make that all important 4th action vital at key points in the game. My Norowas was fortunate enough to roll at least a "6" once in every round. His doubletime 9in x 2=18in almost ensures that you can run to the rear to nail the support figures. His range of 5in and 2 range damage is a last resort effort if you ever have the need to shoot something soaring.

WolfHawk has an interesting "69" point value. Like Norowas, the 9in speed is amazing. Crushing blow to deal with any persistent toughness or dodge ability. Speaking of dodge? She has it as well, though only on her first click. This Figure is a great example of close combat prowess. She incorporates OFFENSE (crushing blow and weapon master) and a good dose of DEFENSE (parry and toughness). Notice that here defense does NOT drop below 15 at any point of her dial and even her speed does NOT drop below 8in even if she was wounded down to her last click.

Xandressen Windsman is a really great support figure that can actually be a pest to deal with too. The Atlanteans seem to have the monopoly in terms of the "DEFEND" ability. His real talent shines on his 3rd click. In a pure MK resurrection environment, a 17 defense is a really good solid one (above the average). The windsman is kinda like your "wingman". He's there to help others "look good" even if they seem all wounded swollen and the likes. He's like the best friend you'll ever have because even though he can't "Heal" you? he'll stick by your side and fend off other people's insults and attack. Now if the 17 defense is really good? then a sure buck 18 with the lowest "parry" roll and the highest of 20 with a high "parry" roll should make him quite the Swordsman. There's a reason he has two of those swords at hand.
Let's also NOT forget that he's stepping on a Keg... Don't know if that's a "Gunpowder Keg" or a "Wine keg". Either way, he's the life of the party and is bound to bring something unforgettable into your social gathering. Isama niyo siya sa Christmas party sa opisina .

Skeleton Skullwalker. This is yet one of the most amazing figures in this set. A magespawn with leadership at a mere 34point cost. He has an above average 17 defense through the majority of his dial. He can also virtually Heal all the way up to his starting Click with his vampirism slots. If he's been dealt 3 damage, he ends up on his venom dials to deal some payback :-) . His only main bane is the 7in speed which is still better than a typical dwarf's 6in. Just a bit of a heads up spoiler, but this guy turned out to be my MVP figure at the last round. Stay tuned and I'll let you know by tomorrow morning :p

Re: MK RESURRECTION 300pt pure MKR(no cards) 12/7/13 tournament
My first Round was a Bye Victory (1 win but ZERO Objective tokens)
A bye victory is great in terms of being able to rest and recuperate. It is also however a disadvantage when it comes to tie-breakers at the latter part of the tournament especially if you're gunning for the TOP spots. With an army already built, It is generally a good idea to scope out the competition at this point. Hehehe as much as possible, just observe and don't meddle in your subject's affairs. By being a passive observer, learn the strength or combinations of each army. Eat, Drink and be merry :-) , it's best that one eases off the pressure to prepare for the next matchup.
Next up is my matchup against Arvin... Learn the true power of Goldyx...
